Search Pages 0.1

I recently came across Rob Schlüter’s hack that makes search queries look at pages as well as posts.

I wanted to add the functionality, but as I don’t like doing hacks (since I usually forget about them when doing an upgrade) I decided to create a plugin named Search Pages for it.

David, nice to see you made a plugin of my hack. I changed the source code because I couldn’t find out how to use the plugin system to get the same results.
But I think using a plugin for enhancing WordPress is the way it shoud be done. I’ve added a link to your plugin to point visitors to the better solution.

    Hi David,

Great plugin, so simple and yet so easy - I did a test run (though I only have one page with one word in it) and it works great.

Thank you very much, and of course to Rob for kickstarting it all :)

It’s a wonderful plugin - unfortunately, the search results page isists on lumping all of my pages into the default category. As pages don’t actually have categories, some of them end up being a bit nonsensical - however, I imagine this is to do with the search results page code, rather than the plugin itself.

    Any ideas for a workaround?

Thanks for the nice plugin. Is there a way to not show a category of page searches?

  5. David Says:

    Peter,

Nope, I have no ideas offhand for a workaround.

    Stephen,

I’m sure there’s a way to do that, but I don’t know how.

Sorry to both of you. :(

I can confirm that this excellent plug-in also works with WordPres 2.0 - I’ve just activated it on my first 2.0 site and it works as perfectly as it has done on my 1.5 sites.
